Wild Pup Adventures is a woman-led, local small business, operating with eco-consciousness, striving for nature-reconnection, and utilizing an ethical way of interacting with animals. WPA holds a vision that work should be meaningful, positive, healthy for everyone involved, and providing a beneficial service to the world. We believe that our community can come together to support one another during challenging times and we offer various programs to support local animal rescue organizations as well as clients with limited financial resources. Environmental awareness and stewardship, emotional fulfillment, and a connection with the natural world are at the forefront of our minds. As we continue to grow, we hope to offer an inspiring template to others, modeling what the future of business looks like.

Inspiration

It is absolutely joyful and fulfilling to bring happiness to dogs and their families by taking them on hiking, swimming, and running adventures. A happy and tired dog is a good dog. Exercise relieves anxiety, keeps pets healthy mentally and physically, and helps to manage and prevent a number of behavioral issues. Many people work long hours and struggle during the work-week to provide adequate exercise for their pets. We help our clients by taking this responsibility off their shoulders so that they can feel guilt-free and balanced. Each dog in our pack is treated as an individual, with unique preferences and personalities. Toby treats each and every dog as her own.

Learner-Centered Dog Training™

Every Wild Pup is treated as a unique and complex individual who deserves a life worth living. After many years as a learner-centered and experiential educator and administrator for humans, Toby observed major deficits in the one-size-fits-all methods of training, relating to, and caring for dogs. WPA’s approach is to be able to read and listen to dogs so well, that a customized approach is possible. She coined the term Learner-Centered Dog Training™ which is possible by cultivating deep, reciprocal relationships over an extended period of time. Intentional Canine Community & Culture

For dogs, having a regular social group and knowing, clearly, what the norms of that community are results in emotional wellbeing and greater social awareness. At WPA, canine culture is intentionally created and expectations are clearly defined, providing a rich and healthy learning environment for new Wild Pups to join. Our packs are full of long-term, weekly participants. Wild Pups socialize with their best friends each week and enjoy a cohesive and compatible group atmosphere.
